Through realism, colliding landscapes, and the depiction of intimate bodily spaces, Falarz illustrates an argument within an intimate space, giving voice to the voided ‘feminine’ that lacks within phonographic spaces and sexual discourse between partners.
“Drawing from feminist critiques of visual culture and sexual representation, Aleksandra Falarz investigates how the female body is consumed and argued within contemporary discourse. Rather than rejecting the gaze, her paintings inhabit and redirect it—asserting control over the body while acknowledging the difficulty of escaping inherited ways of looking in a world saturated with female nudity. ”
