“–ing” is a meditation on ongoingness; on the quiet, steady motion of being with God. Rather than framing spirituality as a dramatic struggle or a single transformative moment, the book leans into the idea of faith as something lived in motion: a process to inhabit, revisit, and return to. The title draws from the grammatical suffix “–ing,” a marker of actions that are continuous, unfinished, and in progress. This linguistic gesture is the conceptual spine of the project, shaping how I think about presence, perseverance, and the invisible toil of spiritual life. The book weaves together moody photographs with fragments of handwriting scanned directly from my journal. These words capture the pauses, hesitations, and rhythms of private thought. In contrast, the images create a more atmospheric, ambiguous space in which the viewer can wander. Their tone is intentionally subdued, offering mood rather than narrative, feeling rather than explanation. Together, the images and text form a layered conversation between outward perception and inward reflection, mirroring the texture of a faith that is always unfolding.
