Chocolate Cake Cookbook: Data Visualization

A chocolate cake is more than just a dessert. It is a global system of data. As Giorgia Lupi said, data is everywhere - present in every moment, every event, every transaction or interaction with someone else.

“Chocolate cake is a publication that carries personal meaning and rich layers of data - a system of ingredients, circulation, labor, nutritions, and trends - that hide beneath it. The four perspectives analyzed are: ingredient structure; cocoa production and its global flow; who profits the most; homemade vs. bakery cost comparison; and global chocolate cake trends. All together they form a multi-layered understanding of the chocolate cake.”
