Go Left
2024
Etching and aquatint on Hahnemühle Copperplate paper
15.5" x 22"
Go Left serves as an exploration of perseverance, struggle, futility, and learning to be content with what is, rather than fixate on what could be. A technical exercise in control, restraint, and patience, the production of this piece was situated in leaning into personal strengths rather than trying to force constant innovation and improvement. Using Sisyphus in a state of rest as the subject, Go Left exists as a reminder that, when faced with challenge, we do not have to choose between either pushing forward or regressing, and that we can always choose to go left instead, and can learn to let ourselves sit down for a time.
