East Meets West
Painting
East Meets West focuses on a more personal, routine-based moment centred on food. The scene brings together a Western-style breakfast alongside a classic Hong Kong-style breakfast within a single meal. These elements are not separated, but exist together as part of an everyday routine. This reflects how cultural distinctions are experienced as something already integrated into daily life. Instead of showing Cheeto directly, her presence is suggested through her lick mat. This shift makes her presence more subtle while still reinforcing that the scene is a lived experience.
