The storm commences in moderato...Playing with the contrast between bright white and deep blues, the painting delivers a seductive overture into the series. The striking presence of the lightning bolt clashes with the enveloping darkness of the sea, both engraved in time against their fleeting nature by the strokes of the brushes.
