The Fabrics of Our Kingdom

Painting
2026
oil and acrylic on canvas
24" x 18"
This painting is brought about from the memory where my sister and I discovered a hidden world of clothes tucked away under our nana's bed, and would play 'dress up' where we would think of ourselves as royalty. The painting shows us in a glowing, old-fashioned room, surrounded by heaps of colour and a single pearl necklace that felt like a crown jewel in our hands. It’s a look back at how we used our imagination to build our own little world, turning a simple moment of play into something that felt truly grand.
