A representational, surreal portrait of a modern Centauress. This is her final form, her own version of an exclamation point! Her self-expression is comprised of all the performances, secrets, aspirations, and experiences that she has lived through. Capturing the embodiment process, and nuances of carrying the labels assigned to the 'feminine' through patriarchal culture. This work ties together the multiple truths of both human women and horses through a visual language of distortion, hybridization, and modern/pop culture references. Her final form is intentionally meant to be questioned by the viewer, never minding their gaze nor perception.
