““According to Dr. Moises Abraham, who prepared the military medical report on the guerrilla's death, the body had seven bullet wounds. They included mortal wounds in both lungs and a shot directly through the heart. There was also a massive contusion on the back, the doctor said, which could have been caused by a blow with a rifl e butt.” (CH) New York Times 1967Che Guevara was a communist figure in the Cuban revolution, and a guerrilla fighter in South America, he was captured and killed in the Jungles of Bolivia by the Bolivian army (CB). He now stands as a singular image, an image taken by Alberto Korda during one of Fidel Castro’s speeches in Cuba. The picture was never used until an Italian business man named Giangiacomo Feltrinelli asked him if he had a picture of Che, Korda then gave him these pictures as a gift. A couple years later Feltrinelli started selling millions of posters with Korda’s photo, yet never credited him. This image has now lost all of its meaning due to its countless reproductions, mugs, tshirts, flags, sunglasses, prints, etc (K). Che was once a revolutionary figure who stood for the fight for liberty and revolution, now he is only the face of the happy protester, an image that stands for nothing, lost in translation.”
