“My practice engages the “third space” of diasporic experience through material systems that traverse geographic and metaphysical distances. ”

Connecting a biotech ethos between found material and place, I attempt to perforate and mend processes within my lived experience of remote forest, distant farm and local city. I restitch as an active contribution to a wide array of dialogues rooted in, and extending beyond, a conglomerate of approaches to kinship. I loop this cycle in tangible forms with the foundational guidance of queer phenomenology and xenofeminism. Ripples of forest fire evacuation, goat birth assistance / emergency care / cremation, and intersectional discrepancy magnifications manifest in my work as movement remains at the core of my practice. Ecological systems in areas significant to me surface in my chosen mediums, as I reference the rafflesia arnoldii (dubbed the ‘corpse flower’) from Malaysia (linked to my paternal ancestry) and plant the homogenous forests I am contracted to in Canada.
