Industrial Design
“An industrial designer interested in a bit of everything! My process is shaped by what I grew up with: stories, games, internet culture, and a strong pull towards the outdoors & the creatures that inhabit them :)”

Octavian is a Toronto-based industrial designer completing his studies at OCAD University. His work centers on furniture and product design, with attention to how things are structured, built, and resolved. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of sources, he finds comfort in the familiar —things he grew up with and keeps returning to— and in exploring what makes certain experiences core parts of ourselves. Alongside this, he is developing a focus on biophilic design: exploring how natural systems, structures, and materials can be integrated into contemporary environments. With a previous education in math and physics, Octavian approaches design with a focus on structure, research, and buildability to ensure informed iteration and prototyping. His Romanian background is a meaningful part of his identity, and occasionally finds its way into work that directly engages with themes of culture, or history.
