Midnight Monologues- Goodbye, my dear Mr. Enigma
Animation
2026
Goodbye, My Dear Mr. Enigma is an immersive animated visual poem that explores love, loss, and emotional detachment. Combining abstract 3D animation, generative visuals, sound, and multilingual voiceover, the work invites viewers into an introspective space where inner thoughts take form. The piece captures the fragile moment where intimacy dissolves and endings begin to transform into new beginnings.
“Midnight Monologues is a series of animated visual poems that transform intimate reflections into immersive, multi-sensory experiences. Incorporating Spanish, English, Japanese, and Chinese, the work explores language as a sonic bridge, fostering connection across cultures through love as a universal experience. This installation focuses on Chapter 1: Goodbye, My Dear Mr. Enigma, which narrates the emotional detachment from a romantic figure and the often-misunderstood process of farewell. It navigates the residues of intimacy, the melancholy of loss, and the fragmented identity that remains after love dissolves—capturing the quiet moment of self-realization before dawn, when endings begin to transform into new beginnings. The work is presented as a hybrid installation combining projection mapping and virtual reality, divided between the exterior and interior self. While projection offers a collective viewing experience, the virtual environment immerses the viewer within a surreal greenhouse—an evolving architecture of memory and emotion, where feelings are preserved, exposed, and continuously reinterpreted.”
