My practice plays with ideas of layering and transparency, creating compositions that engross the viewer in faded memories. Starting as a compilation of photographs, I create digital collages which are the forefront of my experimentation, later distorting perspective through layering. From there, I bring the image to life using acrylic on canvas. Using exclusively reference images that I have taken allows me to play with themes of broken memory - altering what once was. Using vivid colours has always been an interest, creating dream-like compositions while experimenting how colour changes the viewer's interpretation of an image. Working with blues and yellows has kept my interest for the past year, recently branching out with the addition of pink, adding a new layer of emotions to my work.I invite viewers into my work by pushing the boundaries of the picture plane, offering a unique perspective shaped by my adventures. These themes further come to light through the method of blending figures and landscapes to create one composition. Behind these, ideas of growth and connection to the world and self are rooted deeply in the ideas behind my work.
